New Territories, where at first some opposition was met with, is now proceeding smoothly, and it is now believed thet

there is little evasion of the law.

do case of plague, human or rodent occurred in 1932. As in previous years smallpox again ande its appearance, two hundred and twelve cases being reported. There was also a sporadic outbreak of cerebro-spinal meningitis, and for the first time for a number of years

cases of cholera occurred, two hundred and forty-one in all

being notified. The outbreak was, however, scarcely of

sufficient severity to be described as an epidemic.

The report of the Malaria Bureau is of considerable

The Bureau since its establishment has secured

much valuable information regarding the life histories and

malaria carryin powers of the local anophclines.

Further provision has been made in the 1934 Budget for

the carrying out of anti-malarial works.
